The Resurrection of Others
1. David's Prophecy of
Christ's Resurrection
Psalms 16:10 For you
will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot
in the grave.
2. The Firstfruits of the
Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:12 But
tell me this—since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of
you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead?
1 Corinthians 15:20
But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great
harvest of all who have died.
3. Taught by Christ
John 5:28-29 Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is
coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s
Son, 29 and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise
to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to
experience judgment.
4. Christ the Resurrection
John 11:25 Jesus told
her, “I am the resurrection and the life.[a] Anyone who believes in me will live, even after
dying.
Acts 4:2 These leaders
were very disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people that through
Jesus there is a resurrection of the dead.
5. The Resurrected Body
1 Corinthians 15:43-44
Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are
buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are
buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies.
For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.
Philippians 3:21 He
will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his
own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his
control.
6. Resurrection of the
Just
Luke 14:14 Then at the
resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could
not repay you.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For
the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians
who have died will rise from their graves.
Philippians 3:11 so
that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them
had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had
been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of
God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on
their forehead or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned
with Christ for a thousand years.
7. The Resurrection of
Others
Revelation 20:5-6 This
is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life
until the thousand years had ended.) 6Blessed and holy are those who share
in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they
will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
