Deuteronomy 27:10 So
you must obey the Lord your God by keeping all these commands and decrees
that I am giving you today.”

Matthew 6:24 “No one
can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be
devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
3. Better than Perfunctory
Sacrificing
1 Samuel 15:22 But
Samuel replied,“What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings
and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better
than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
4. Actuated by Love
John 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments.
John 14:23 Jesus
replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them,
and we will come and make our home with each of them.
1 John 5:3 Loving God
means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.
5. A Testimony to the
Grace of God
Matthew 5:16 In the
same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will
praise your heavenly Father.
Acts 11:23 When he
arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he
encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.
1 Peter 2:15 It is
God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who
make foolish accusations against you.
6. Fruitage of Genuine
Obedience
Romans 6:22 But now
you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do
those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.
Matthew 7:21 “Not
everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
7. Obedience of Our Lord
John 8:29 And the one
who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases
him.”
Matthew 26:39 He went
on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My
Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet
I want your will to be done, not mine.”
Philippians 2:8 he
humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
