1. A Moral Attribute of
God
Psalms 57:10 For your
unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the
clouds.
Psalms 103:8 The
Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with
unfailing love.
Titus 3:5 he saved us,
not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He
washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy
Spirit.
2. Enduring Mercy
Psalms 103:17 But the
love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His
salvation extends to the children’s children
3. Prayer for Mercy
Psalms 25:6 Remember,
O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from
long ages past.
Psalms 51:1 Have mercy
on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great
compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
Luke 18:13 “But the
tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as
he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to
me, for I am a sinner.’
4. Required of Man
Proverbs 3:3 Never let
loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write
them deep within your heart.
Luke 6:36 You must be
compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
5. The Reward of Mercy
Proverbs 21:21 Whoever
pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness,
and honor.
Matthew 5:7 God
blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
