1. Certainty of Judgment
Ecclesiastes 11:9
Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do
everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an
account to God for everything you do.
Hebrews 9:27 And just
as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,
2. Rewards and Punishments
Luke 14:14 Then at the
resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could
not repay you.”
2 Corinthians 5:10 For
we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we
deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
2 Timothy 4:8 And now
the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me
but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.
Revelation 11:18 The
nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It
is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as
well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least
to the greatest. It is time to destroy all who have
caused destruction on the earth.”
3. According to Opportunity
Matthew 10:15 I tell
you the truth, the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah will be better
off than such a town on the judgment day.
John 3:19 And the
judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people
loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
4. The Revealing of
Secrets
Ecclesiastes 12:14 God
will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good
or bad.
Luke 12:2 The time is
coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is
secret will be made known to all.
5. The Judge
A.
GOD - Daniel 7:10 and a river of fire was pouring
out, flowing from his presence. Millions of angels ministered to
him; many millions stood to attend him. Then the court began its
session, and the books were opened.
Revelation 2:5-6 Look
how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If
you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among
the churches. 6 But this is in your favor: You hate the evil deeds of
the Nicolaitans, just as I do.
B.
JESUS CHRIST - Acts 10:42 And he ordered us to
preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be
the judge of all—the living and the dead.
Acts 17:31 For he has
set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has
appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead.”
C.
THE SAINTS – Matthew 19:28 Jesus
replied, “I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of
Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will
also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
1 Corinthians 6:2
Don’t you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you
are going to judge the world, can’t you decide even these little things among
yourselves?
6. Those to be Judged
Romans 14:10-12 So why
do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer?
Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For
the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every
knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.’” 12 Yes,
each of us will give a personal account to God.
2 Peter 2:4 For God
did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in
gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of
judgment.
Jude 1:6 And I remind
you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them
but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in
prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment.
7. Discrimination at the
Judgment
Matthew 13:49 That is
the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate
the wicked people from the righteous,
Matthew 25:34 “Then
the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my
Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
