1. Fellowship with God
Genesis
5:23-24 Enoch lived 365 years, 24 walking in close
fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.
Genesis
6:9 This is the account of Noah
and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on
earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
Exodus
29:45 Then I will live among the people of Israel and be their God,
Isaiah
57:15 The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I
live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and
humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the
courage of those with repentant hearts.
Zechariah
2:10 The Lord says, “Shout and rejoice, O beautiful Jerusalem, for I am coming to live among
you.
2. Fellowship with God in
Christ
John
15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit
if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in
me.
1
Corinthians 1:9 God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he
has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Colossians
3:3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
3. Fellowship with the
Holy Spirit
John
14:16-17 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another
Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit,
who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t
looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives
with you now and later will be in you.
Romans
8:9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the
Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those
who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at
all.)
Galatians
4:6 And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into
our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”
Philippians
2:1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his
love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and
compassionate?
4. The Fruitage of
Fellowship
John
15:5-7 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I
in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do
nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a
useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be
burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may
ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
5. Fellowship of
Christians
John
17:11 Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I
am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect
them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.
Acts 1:14 They all met together and were
constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other
women, and the brothers of Jesus.
Colossians
2:2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I
want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious
plan, which is Christ himself.
1
John 1:3-7 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so
that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and
with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you
may fully share our joy. 5 This is the message we heard from
Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in
him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God
but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the
truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light,
then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin.
6. Fellowship with the Wicked Forbidden
1
Corinthians 15:32-33 And what value was there in fighting wild
beasts—those people of Ephesus—if
there will be no resurrection from the dead? And if there is no resurrection,
“Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!” 33 Don’t be fooled by
those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
2
Peter 2:19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and
corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.
