 Angels |
There was a time when the educational
and scientific world scoffed at the supernatural and that outside our natural
realm. Then interest increased in the occult and demonic supernatural
phenomena. This interest has continued to grow. If the supernatural on the
satanic side is real, the supernatural of God is much greater. Our interest
should be in the realms of light--not in the realms of darkness so this lesson
reveals from a biblical standpoint what angels are and what they are not. Outline:

- one of a class of spiritual beings; a celestial attendant of God. In medieval
angelology, angels constituted the lowest of the nine celestial orders
(seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominations or dominions, virtues, powers,
principalities or princedoms, archangels, and angels). 1. Created Col.1.16 for through him
God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things
we can see and the things we can’t see — such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and
authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and
for him. 2. Different Orders Re.12.7 Then there was
war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. 3. Are Immortal Lu.20.36 And they will
never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of
God and children of the resurrection. 4. Functions Medium of Revelation 2 Ki.1.15 And the angel
of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him; be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the
king. Ze.1.9 Then said I, O my
Lord what are these? And the angel that

said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me
to bring you this good news! Ac.8.26 As for Philip, an
angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Minister to the
Righteous Ps. 91.11 For he will
order his angels to protect you wherever you go. Da.6.22 My God sent his
angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been
found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty. Ac.5.19-20 But an angel
of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out.

are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation. Minister to Disembodied

poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man

angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the
people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with

shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea, Worshipers of God Ps.148.1-2 Praise the
Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise him from the
skies! 2 Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of
heaven! 5. Interest in the Salvation of Souls Luke.15.10 In the same
way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents. 6. Subject to Christ 1 Pe.3.22 Now Christ has
gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the
angels and authorities and powers accept his authority. 7. Their Limitations Ma.24.36 However, no one
knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in
heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. 8. Fallen Angels 2 Pe.2.4 For God did not
spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of
